Portugal, The Algarve & Zara's Baptism

With my parents visiting for summer, we decided to coordinate Baby Z's first holiday excursion with a family trip to Portugal before returning for her baptism at the Cathedral in Aberdeen.

We stayed in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, spending the days by the pool and driving around (car rides are the best).

We stayed on the hilltops outside a small village north of Faro called Santa Barbara de Nexe and made day trips to the walled portion of the city of Faro, the market day in Loule, the seaside marina in Olhao, and the Vilamoura Marina.

"And we're the two best friends that anybody could have, that anybody could have..."

Couldn't arrive at our house until past a certain hour, so we found a British Expat Pub (of course) in the village and just tried to keep cool.  A/C is not standard, believe it or not, in southern Portugal in the summer!  This was right after Zara had her first of many explosions to come while sleeping in her carseat.

OMG! They are flippin' adorable!!!!

Zara's First Swim.  She wasn't that into it really.

Stella with her first love, ice cream!

Vilamoura Marina.  Stella was probably upset about something. Who knows?

It's so hot!  Let's have milk.

Who knew she'd have a meltdown so quickly after the euro expired

Finally found the beach.  She's worked through her issues since our first holiday as expats, where she screamed at the top of her lungs whilst being "forced" to stand on sand.

Only one that could just relax.

Finally made it to a Churrascaria...
...at the mall of all places
Having so much fun is so much work!

Still dealing with the fact that not everything is about her, but still thinking it is nonetheless.

Hurrying up to get dressed for her baptism!!!

So chill

This is as close to formal family portrait as we'll get for years to come I'm sure.

Not a peep! 2 for 2 with our kids on their baptisms.
